The diocese is large in area and covers the city of Bristol and the counties of Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. It stretches from Gloucester and Cheltenham in the north to Wells and Yeovil in the south, from the Forest of Dean in the north-west to Salisbury in the south-east to Wellington and Minehead in the south-west.

The 150 or so parishes in the diocese are divided into deaneries.

Holy Family is in the Bristol North West deanery which consists of nine parishes.

The diocese has a number of departments who help the bishop look after various activities. These range from the administrative, such as finance and schools, to the more pastoral such as evangelization and vocations. Periodically these departments (or the diocese as a whole) put on events that all are invited to. These might be days of prayer or informative sessions. Watch the newsletter to find out about these, or visit the diocesan website www.cliftondiocese.com. You can also learn about the diocese from the diocesan directory which is published annually and can be obtained from the back of church, usually in November and December each year.
