After School Programs at Holy Family Catholic Church Patchway

Looking for a safe, friendly place for your child after the school bell rings? Our after‑school programs give kids a chance to learn, play, and make friends while parents get a breather.

Why Join an After School Program?

First off, kids stay out of trouble. When school ends, the temptation to wander into empty streets drops dramatically when there’s a structured activity waiting.

Second, the programs blend homework help with fun. A tutor is on hand for maths or English, then a craft or sport session follows – so learning never feels like a chore.

Third, social skills improve fast. Working on group projects, playing team games, and sharing snacks teach kids how to communicate and cooperate.

Finally, parents benefit too. While the kids are busy, you can run errands, work extra hours, or simply unwind knowing they’re in good hands.

How to Get Involved

Signing up is easy. Swing by the church office after Sunday mass or call the front desk during office hours. We’ll give you a short questionnaire to match your child’s interests – whether they love art, sports, or science experiments.

Our schedule runs Monday to Friday, 3 pm to 6 pm, with a half‑hour lunch break. Pick‑up is at the main hall, and we send a text reminder half an hour before closing.Fees are modest and fully transparent. We accept cash, card, or direct debit, and there are discounts for families with more than one child in the program.

Every week features a themed activity. One week might be “Mini Inventors,” where kids build simple gadgets from recycled material. Another week could be “World Games,” introducing football, cricket, or netball from different cultures.

We also partner with local volunteers – teachers, retirees, and university students – who bring extra expertise. This means a music lesson one day, a cooking demo the next, and even a mini‑garden project in the churchyard.

Safety is our top priority. All volunteers undergo background checks, and the building is equipped with CCTV, fire alarms, and child‑friendly furniture. Parents receive a daily activity report via email, so you always know what your child did.

If you have a special talent you’d like to share – like painting or coding – let us know. We love involving parents in the program; it builds a stronger community bond.

Got a question about transportation? The church runs a short shuttle from the main car park to the hall for those who can’t walk the few minutes.

Ready to give it a try? Our next intake starts the first week of September. Register early, because spots fill up quickly, especially for the popular sports slots.

Whether you’re looking for extra academic support, a place to burn off energy, or just a safe hangout, Holy Family’s after‑school programs have something for every child. Come join our friendly family and see the difference a supportive environment can make.
