Welcome To Holy Family Parish
Those were the first words spoken to me when I arrived in the parish in September 2008, and with great pleasure I say them now to you and your loved ones.
Holy Family is a happy, welcoming. hard-working community, a parish that has grown over the years. Our Church is situated on a busy junction of the A38 Gloucester Road, just off the intersection of the M4/M5 motorways. The northern part of the parish, Bradley Stoke is a rapidly expanding part of Bristol, just as Patchway was some years ago when our Church was built. To respond to this growth, we have been engaged in a major parish development in Bradley Stoke, comprising a second Primary School to serve alongside Holy Family Catholic Primary School, which is called St Mary’s, and a Church presence, called St Joseph's Centre, on the same site.
We have a lot to offer you spiritually and socially, and I am sure that in turn you have a lot to offer us. This web site is designed to introduce you to the many different activities here at Holy Family; in time I hope you will feel able to get involved in the life of the parish in whatever way you can. Don’t hesitate to ask for further information or advice: we are a friendly bunch!
I have always thought that the prophet Micah’s famous words are a wonderful and simple expression of what a Catholic parish is all about. A place of where we can express our love of God not only in words and prayers, but in the way we try to care for one another in practical ways, following the example of our Lord Jesus Christ:
This is what the Lord asks of you, only this, to act justly, to love tenderly, and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8)
Once again, may I welcome you and your family and friends, and I look forward to meeting you personally.
Fr Eugene
Parish Priest.
